Think about all it takes to initiate, plan, control, execute and close out a major program. Whether the program in question involves developing a major new technology, installing a state-of-the-art system, a partial or complete redesign or implementing new processes and tools to improve quality, cost or delivery performance, POC has the proven methodology and experience to manage your most challenging programs.

Project Management

POC’s Project Management Services provide the leadership required to plan, coordinate and oversee the execution of complex and diverse projects.

Dedicated PMI-certified Project Management professionals proactively identify issues and trends early in the process. This enables POC’s teams to accurately predict variance and manage risk. In addition, these teams provide reports that relate project status and performance, costs, schedules, resources and technical requirements.

POC has the expertise required to initiate, plan, implement and manage large-scale, complex projects. From assessments and statements of work to monitoring and managing timelines, budgets and performance, POC Project Management Services ensures efficient and cost-effective implementation.

Quality Management

POC’s Quality Management System (QMS) was expanded to comply with AS9110, which applies to the maintenance and repair of aircraft equipment, and is now certified to AS9110A. POC also expanded the scope of our ISO-certification to include electronic systems. Our QMS was expanded to comply with AS9100, which applies specifically to the aerospace industry, and is now certified to AS9100C. See our Quality certificates here.

We are customer-focused, investing in capabilities that allow us to provide better, faster and more flexible service. Our lean manufacturing facilities offer the latest automated equipment and process control techniques to ensure quality products meet your time-to-market demands.

Final Assembly

Within electronic assembly, metal fabrications, cables and card assemblies are joined to complete the final product. This process is done on continuous flow lines using KANBAN pull material handling, Demand Flow documentation and labor techniques that include documented quality checks.

Integration Capabilities

POC’s integration capabilities include programming and testing of circuit cards, software configuration of the cards and system, safety (leakage & HiPot) testing, inventory consignment/management, configuration management and functional testing.

POC offers COTS and custom build-to-order configuration and engineering services. We collaborate with customers to deliver prototypes and evaluation units to test various configurations in the customer's specific application environment. We support a wide range of operating system types and operating environments. POC offers complete integration services to deliver fully assembled solutions that are loaded with software, tested, and require literally no set up apart from connecting external assets. POC offers complete set of integration solutions to address particular vertical market requirements such as Military and Aerospace, Industrial and other environmentally challenged industries.

Services span a wide range of manufacturing, configuration and integration services, from component and subsystem assemblies, asset tagging and management all the way to the full assembly, integration, configuration and test of complex computing solutions. We offer a complete menu of services to support just about any requirement a customer might have.

Our strong engineering and technical capability make us the right choice for our customers who need to extend their integration and configuration capability.

End-Of-Life (EOL) – Life Cycle Management

POC takes a proactive approach to the rapidly changing lifecycle of COTS components. Every customer is provided with advanced notifications of EOL items as well as a preliminary replacement strategy to facilitate testing, long before components are no longer available. POC works intently with its suppliers to get accurate roadmaps and formulate design criteria for each system to ensure the longest shelf life possible. In the event a particular component must be used, POC can maintain life-purchase stock to facilitate the progression of the program.

POC maintains an obsolescence plan designed to support your product throughout its lifecycle. POC maintains EOL (End Of Life)/Obsolescence information on all parts used in the products within our system. This information is gathered weekly, monthly, and quarterly based upon commodity type. Manufacturer information relative to EOL and LTB (Last Time Buy) dates are transmitted to the customer. POC works with our vendors and customers to identify solutions for additional procurements and follow on parts which are form, fit, function replacements. After notification of a pending EOL component is made, POC works with the customer to obtain a recommended replacement part for testing in the product affected. POC also works with the customer to identify unique procurement options for the situation which could range from placing a LTB order to stocking customer parts for usage on future orders including service, support, spares, and other program needs.

POC will minimize the impact of all known obsolescence issues from design through life cycle support and will choose components with reasonable life cycle expectancy during the design phase. These components will reflect the best in quality and component class with the longest currently available road map life cycle. POC designs will provide design flexibility in regard to anticipated technology changes in order to meet changes driven by expected trends such as Moore’s Law.

For customers that require enhanced services such as custom engineering or obsolescence and life-cycle services, we develop comprehensive obsolescence management programs tailored to meet specific needs. Our technology management and technology insertion programs assist our customers with operational and maintenance management and reducing overall program life-cycle costs.

Our approaches to obsolescence management include, but are not limited to:

  • Data Package Management
  • Component device and die banking
  • Re-qualification testing
  • Component characterization and certification testing
  • Legacy electronics parts re-design
  • Manufacture of Form-Fit-Function LRUs (Line Replaceable Units)

Earned Value Management System

POC has an Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) that is compliant with ANSI/EIA 748. POC key staff members have extensive experience in analyzing EVM data using EV predictive metrics to proactively manage large government programs with EVMS, contract work breakdown structures, integrated master schedules, and CSDR requirements.

Technology Transition

POC has taken a multi-faceted approach to a technology transition strategy. POC will integrate a cross-functional transition integrated product team (TIPT) supported by customer user’s and 3rd party Tier 1 platform integrators. During the initial phase of transition, requirement definition, technology risk/reward tradeoffs and identification of real world technology deployment needs, POC will be relying on collaboration all parties to ensure the technology satisfies usage needs in a tactical operational environment. Our key goals in the development/maturation phases are to demonstrate the technical value, identify and mitigate potential barriers and validate how the technology will be used, establish performance metrics (storage density, throughput, environmental requirements, informational security needs and scalability) and support on platform requirements. This process will result in a smoother transition from development, prototype demonstration, to an affordable, operationally suitable system for the end user needs.
